First Cancer Center to open in Central Luzon

Pampanga will be the site of a P500-million cancer center to be built by the partnership between local hospital Mother Theresa of Calcutta Medical Center (MTCMC) and Singapore firm TE Asia Healthcare. MTCMC is part of the Mount Grace Hospitals Inc. network.

According to TE Asia's Executive Officer Eng Aik Meng, the facility is set to open in July 2019, with the promise of providing affordable services to the members of the community, as well as nearby provinces.

MTCMC's Chief Operations Officer Rhais Gamboa meanwhile highlights how this partnership will mean an improvement in knowledge as well: "Partnering with international institutions is always an aspiration of local entities because of exchange in knowledge and access to the new technology."

This will be the largest investment in a cancer center facility in Central Luzon.
